Land Rover OBD2 & Diagnostic Scanner Guides

Find the diagnostic scanner guide for your Land Rover or Range Rover below. These thirty-five UK-focused guides explain what generic engine OBD2 can tell you, when manufacturer-aware diagnostics can add useful information, and how to choose a tool for the actual generation, engine, gearbox and fitted equipment.

Compare Nanocom for supported Td5, Discovery II V8 and P38 vehicles, pscan for Freelander 1, iCarsoft Land Rover/Jaguar handhelds, GAP IIDTool and appropriately equipped specialist routes. Support for one controller or reading function does not establish coding, calibration, programming or active-test support. Exact functions vary by vehicle build, module, software, interface and tool version.

Choose the guide matching your vehicle before buying a scanner. A fault code provides evidence for investigation, rather than confirming a replacement part. Save the complete report before clearing it. The linked articles explain their scope and exclusions; they do not provide security-access, key-programming or safety-critical repair instructions.

Choosing a Land Rover diagnostic route

A generic EOBD reader can help with supported emissions-related powertrain information. A suspension, parking-brake, ABS or AWD warning can require access to the relevant fitted controller. Check the exact vehicle and required reading function with the supplier, including hardware, software, compatible device, updates and licence conditions.

These are documentary-researched guides. Unusual Cars has not independently tested the vehicles, scanners or functions. Product links within the individual guides may be affiliate links and are disclosed beside the commercial panels.
