For a right-hand-drive CLA220d C117, check the steering-side application as well as the cabin-filter reference. MANN-FILTER explicitly lists FP 26 007/1 for right-hand-drive vehicles and includes the CLA 220 CDI 117.303/305, OM 651.930, 130 kW (177 hp) application. The final “/1” is part of the product reference: do not drop it when comparing listings.
Cabin filter, pollen filter or engine air filter?
In this guide, cabin filter and pollen filter describe the passenger-compartment air filter. The engine air filter is a separate component with a different job and part reference. When booking work, ask the garage to name the filter rather than writing only “air filter” on the quote.
The scope here is the first-generation C117 diesel Coupé, with the stated manufacturer application used as the example. It does not establish the requirements of the later C118. Imported cars may be left-hand drive; check your actual car rather than assuming steering side from a UK address.
What the manufacturer lists
| Reference | Catalogue description | Selection point |
|---|---|---|
| CUK 26 007 | Activated-carbon cabin filter in the C117/X117 catalogue section. | Check the complete current application and installation information for your vehicle. |
| FP 26 007 | Biofunctional cabin filter in the same section. | A similar number does not establish equivalence to the /1 version. |
| FP 26 007/1 | Biofunctional cabin filter explicitly identified for right-hand drive. | The live page includes the coded CLA application above, with September 2014–March 2019 coverage. |
These are catalogue descriptions, not a ranking of the best filter or a claim that every version fits both steering layouts. MANN lists FP 26 007/1 and CUK 26 007 with the same nominal dimensions, 240 × 254 × 43 mm. Matching dimensions alone therefore cannot settle which product description is appropriate.
Carbon and biofunctional descriptions
The CUK product is described as activated carbon; MANN describes FP 26 007/1 as its FreciousPlus biofunctional product. Compare the actual manufacturer specification and covered application before paying for a different media option. This guide does not repeat percentage filtration claims or promise that a filter will solve a medical or cabin-odour problem.
A useful comparison begins with the correct application, followed by the product’s stated filtration features and the fitting quote. A more elaborate marketing description should not replace a steering-side or part-number check.
Check a listing before ordering
- Identify C117 versus later CLA generations, the actual steering side and the relevant build details.
- Read the complete reference, including “/1” where specified, on the product and packaging information.
- Compare the manufacturer’s vehicle application, not only a retailer title saying “Mercedes CLA”.
- Resolve contradictory steering-side wording with the supplier before ordering.
- Confirm fitting arrangements and keep the part reference on the invoice.
Manufacturer data should lead this check. Retailer photographs, shortened titles and automated compatibility messages can leave different questions unanswered. If you send registration or VIN details to a supplier, do so privately and retain its written response.
Replacement timing and access
Application dates describe the vehicles listed, not a replacement interval. Establish when the cabin filter is due using the applicable maintenance information and previous records. A generic “full service” invoice does not tell you that this particular filter was replaced.
Before starting a replacement, obtain installation instructions that match the vehicle and steering layout. This article is a selection guide and does not provide a trim-removal sequence or tell you to copy access instructions from a different CLA. For a workshop quote, ask whether the cabin-filter part and fitting labour are both included.
Keep cabin and engine-filter records separate
Record the fitted cabin-filter reference, date, mileage and operation. That allows a later quote to distinguish a previously completed cabin-filter replacement from engine air-filter work.
The CLA220d maintenance guide brings the records together, while the UK service-cost guide helps compare included work. Browse the Servicing & Maintenance hub for the existing vehicle and dashboard-message guides.

Checked 13 October 2026. The right-hand-drive qualifier was confirmed in the manufacturer catalogue and current product page. Fitment still needs to match the individual car; no replacement interval, installation procedure, retailer recommendation or commercial placement is asserted.
