Mercedes C220 CDI W204 Oil & Air Filters: OM651 Part Numbers

MANN-FILTER lists HU 7010 z as the oil filter for its C220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY OM651.911/912 application, and C 35 003 as the engine air filter for the OM651.911 branch. The OM651.912/4MATIC air-filter branch uses C 35 005. Match the engine and drivetrain before buying a filter or a complete service kit.

This guide focuses on the 125 kW/170 hp OM651 C220 CDI, with buying advice for OM651.911. The catalogue groups W204 saloon, S204 estate and C204 coupé applications; a grouped heading does not make every part fit every variant.

The C220 CDI name hides three useful branches

Catalogue applicationEngine air filterOil filter
Earlier C220 CDI, OM646.811; catalogue 03/2007–10/2008C 12 133/1HU 718/1 k

The later OM651 group is listed from November 2008 to December 2014. These are catalogue application dates, not a guarantee based on a UK registration plate. The earlier OM646 row has the same 125 kW/170 hp output as the OM651 row, so horsepower alone will not select the right parts.

Choosing the engine air filter

For the selected OM651.911 application, C 35 003 is the reference supported by both the MANN catalogue and current product application notes. Those notes matter: the general application row includes two engine codes, while the specific note selects OM651.911.

Search Amazon for MANN C 35 003 air filters

Check the complete C 35 003 reference in the actual listing and confirm the vehicle match. Amazon search results can include alternatives and unrelated items. If your car is OM651.912/4MATIC, use its separate application rather than ordering this filter from the shared C220 CDI name.

Choosing the oil filter

HU 7010 z is a useful catalogue reference for the later OM651 group. It is different from the HU 718/1 k listed for the earlier OM646 application. Check the box reference and included seals against the supplier’s description and the car; do not assume an old invoice for another C220 identifies your filter.

For oil to accompany the filter, see the W204 C220 CDI oil approval and capacity guide. The oil approval and viscosity describe the lubricant, not filter fitment.

Why a complete service kit still needs checking

The same catalogue lists several fuel-filter branches for the OM651 application, with qualifiers involving heating, water-sensor connection, filtration system and OE number. Matching an oil filter and an air filter does not resolve those differences. A kit labelled “C220 CDI OM651” still needs its fuel-filter contents checked.

Gearbox filtration is another separate application. Identify the actual transmission before selecting a gearbox kit or its service requirements. This article gives no blanket fuel-filter or transmission-kit recommendation.

When should the filters be changed?

A parts catalogue establishes an application, not a replacement interval. Use the vehicle’s Service Booklet and recorded maintenance to establish when each filter is due. The Mercedes manual also identifies arduous-use conditions that can require more frequent servicing, including the air filter. A B5 message alone cannot prove which air filter fits or that every filter is due now.

Before ordering

  • Confirm the full engine code, body and drivetrain.
  • Check the precise part reference and any application notes.
  • Confirm the contents of a kit individually, especially fuel filters.
  • Agree with the workshop whether customer-supplied parts are accepted.

Sources and application notes

Sources checked 16 October 2026. The online Mercedes manual is the English 2013 saloon edition, part 2045843283Z102, supplied on a country-specific Mercedes website. Match its coverage to your vehicle’s own manual and Service Booklet. Catalogue dates describe parts applications, not service intervals.

Browse the Mercedes servicing and maintenance hub or our Mercedes diagnostic scanner guides. A scanner’s capabilities need checking against the car and the task; fault reading does not establish the maintenance due.
